The Chain is comprised of five seasoned, talented musicians who have been performing in many musical projects over the years both local and national.

The Chicago-based Hemispheres band and their rotating cast of accomplished front men and women pay homage to the legends of Soul, Motown, and classic R&B. Forming the group in 2006, founder TJ Annerino felt the local Chicago music scene lacked bands that authentically recreate the passionate live performances the likes of Otis Redding, Sam & Dave, Sam Cooke, and sought to change that. To tackle this heavy vocal load, he enlisted Deals Gone Bad front man, Todd Hembrook. Todd’s soulful tenor, demanding stage presence, and absolute reverence for the music brought a certain credibility and legitimacy to The Hemispheres sound and helped establish the authenticity TJ was looking for.
For the next five years, The Hemispheres made their rounds performing at clubs all over Chicago, generating a significant underground buzz around the city. Music fans around town began to know that if they were looking for a night out with good music and drunken sweaty dancing, The Hemispheres were the band to see. At least three married Chicago couples claim to have met their spouses at Hemispheres concerts.
Eventually, fans began to realize that The Hemispheres would be an epic non-wedding wedding band, and just like that, the band began its journey into the wedding reception circuit. Adding a lineup of additional powerhouse vocalists, The Hemispheres repertoire became a broad offering that turns wedding receptions into a sweaty concert dance party that wedding goers do not soon forget. If you’re someone who doesn’t particularly care for wedding bands (like us), The Hemispheres is the wedding band for you.
The Hemispheres most recent project is performing as the house band for Chicago Cubs legend Ryan Dempster’s sports talk show, Off the Mound with Ryan Dempster. The Hemispheres are thrilled to be a part of this show that combines sports, comedy, music and stories from legends. The Hemispheres had the privilege to share the stage with show guests such as Eddie Vedder, Rodger Clemens, Umphrey’s McGee, Anthony Rizzo, and Ozzie Guillen.

Zach Avery began playing in bars and venues at the age of 13. The Minnesota native was active in the Twin Cities’ local music scene, and began sitting in with bands and open jams throughout the area. In January of 2014 and in 2015, he helped lead two different Blues bands down to Memphis, TN to partake in the International Blues Challenge. He moved to Chicago, IL in 2015 to study at Columbia College and quickly established roots in the local Blues and Rock scene. He formed a Funk & Soul band called “The Smokin’ Tones” (2016-2019) which played frequent shows around the Chicago area.
In 2019 he formed a new group called The Zach Avery Band, which continues to play Blues, Rock and Soul regularly around the Chicago area. As the lead singer and guitarist, his music is arranged to move the body and soul, while featuring a guitar driven, funky groove.
Zach has also made a name for himself as a sought after guitarist for hire, playing for a variety of other Chicago based artists including Rick King’s Royal Hustle, Nelson Street Revival, Sparkle Carcass, and Black Diamond Sessions, to name a few.
In January 2023, at the age of 26, Zach Avery earned the opportunity to open for 8x Grammy Award Winner, Buddy Guy, at the living legend’s club in Chicago.
On June 1st, 2024 he released his first original EP “Live At Chicago Music Exchange” which was filmed and recorded live. You can stream it on all major streaming services and watch the video HERE.
In January 2025, he and his fiancé Sophie Hafer formed a new tribute show: Revelator: A Tribute to Tedeschi Trucks Band.
In June 2026, he worked with Shakura S’Aida and played the Pritzker Pavilion main stage at the Chicago Blues Festival in front of 11,000 people.

Great Moments in Vinyl takes the tribute experience to a new level. For most concerts, we choose a pair of memorable albums and perform them in their entirety. And along with the music, we supply a series of stories about the songs and the artists and the times that brought them into being. What was the song that saved U2's career? Who was Bruce Springsteen's "Rosalita"? If The Police started out as a punk band, where did all the reggae flavors come from? Why did Elton John wear glasses really? These are the sorts of questions you'll get the answers to when Great Moments in Vinyl takes the stage. And you'll hear some exceptionally well-played music, too.
The Great Moments in Vinyl band is a hand-picked collection of talented musicians from the Chicago area. The particular lineup for each ensemble is specifically chosen for the occasion.
The idea of narrated concerts is the brainchild of William Lindsey Cochran, a Chicago radio personality, voiceover artist, writer, and musician.
